Carolyn Turner Schneiderman, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist in Kentucky. Originally from Alabama, she moved to Louisville in 1992.Dr. Schneiderman earned her bachelor’s degree from Emory University with a major in psychology and a minor in English. She earned her master’s and doctoral degrees in psychology from the University of Louisville. Dr. Schneiderman has a peak interest in chronic and acute trauma, personality disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and anxiety disorders. She is a member of the American Psychological Association.
Dr. Schneiderman uses evidence-based treatment to help patients overcome their issues and maximize their emotional and mental health. She composes individual treatment plans for each patient designed to fit their clinical needs and utilizes various theoretical orientations such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal process therapy, mindfulness, meditation, self-psychology, behaviorism, and psychodynamic.
Dr. Schneiderman provides treatment to individuals, couples, families, and groups. She has over 20 years of experience in treating concerns such as depression, anxiety, behavior issues, other mood disorders, chronic pain, dissociative disorders, women’s issues, men’s issues, child-centered divorce and other divorce issues, phobias, postpartum depression, psychosis, schizophrenia, sexual dysfunction, sleep disorders, stress-related issues, grief, and caregiver fatigue.
During her free time, Dr. Schneiderman enjoys sculpting, crafting, public radio, self-education, and spending time with her family.
