Dr. Ninotchka Roman

Ninotchka Roman, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist in Kentucky who specializes in autism spectrum disorders and intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Dr. Roman earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of the Sacred Heart, and her master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from Ponce Health Sciences University. Dr. Roman completed her internship at the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities, through the Nebraska Internship Consortium of Professional Psychology. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatrics and developmental disabilities at the Department of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at the University of Kansas Medical Center. During her fellowship, she completed the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities certification as a long-term trainee. Dr. Roman is also working on her certification in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. She is a member of the American Psychological Association (including Division 33) and the Kentucky Psychological Association.

Dr. Roman takes a patient/family centered approach to care, emphasizing collaboration among providers, patients, and families to promote health and well-being. She conducts developmental, cognitive, and autism assessments across the lifespan, and provides psychological and behavioral therapy for children and adolescents ages 0–21. She offers services in both English and Spanish and integrates sociocultural factors into her assessment and treatment practices. Dr. Roman has experience treating a wide range of conditions including anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, ADHD, autism, intellectual disability, learning disorders, and cystic fibrosis. She also facilitates social skills groups for minors and young adults with autism and neurodivergence concerns.

Dr. Roman is married and lives with her two poodles, Sushi and Kimchi. She enjoys cooking, movie nights with her family, hiking, playing board games, and reading good fiction novels.
