Dr. Heather L. Cornett

Heather L. Cornett, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist with a health service provider designation in Kentucky.

Dr. Cornett is a Kentucky native who obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology and French from the University of Kentucky. She also obtained her master’s degree in counseling psychology from the University of Kentucky and her doctorate in counseling psychology from Texas Woman’s University. Dr. Cornett completed her internship at the Wichita Collaborative Psychology Internship Program and her residency at Prairie View in Wichita, Kansas. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, Kentucky Psychological Association, and the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. Further, Dr. Cornett previously taught at the undergraduate and graduate level for several years.

Dr. Cornett takes an integrated approach to patient care and provides testing services for ages 6-62 and therapy services for ages 18 and older. She has experience in treating academic concerns, ADHD, anxiety, autism, depression, bipolar mood disorder, oppositional defiance, trauma, and substance abuse. Other areas of interest are severe and persistent mental illness, women's issues, multicultural concerns, and personality disorders. Dr. Cornett also has training in Dialectical-Behavior Therapy (DBT) among other theoretical orientations.

Dr. Cornett is married and has one fur baby (a long-haired, orange, tabby cat). She is an animal lover, enjoys reading, watching true crime, and spending time with family.
